Mr Godbole, a post-graduate in Commerce and also in Management Studies from University of Mumbai is a Freelance Trainer and Academic Advisor. He was formerly General Manager of GIC Re, Mumbai, India, and Secretary General of the Insurance Institute of India on deputation from GIC Re.

He carries a rich experience in the field of finance, risk management, insurance and reinsurance. He has been a member of the Financial Services Working Group of BRICS Business Council for the past several years.

He has always kept a close connection with academics through visiting and guest faculty assignments in Management Institutions. He has been a member of the Board of Studies at many Universities and Business Schools in India. He has been an invited speaker by the Association of Indian Management Schools. He is often invited to train insurance executives by companies in India and abroad.

Mr Godbole has been a speaker/ moderator at various seminars and conferences on finance, risk, insurance and reinsurance in India and abroad.

His contributions on risk management and insurance are published in newspapers, magazines and research journals. Mr Godbole has been participating in programmes on national radio and television channels on various subjects including financial literacy, inclusive insurance and consumer awareness. His efforts on social media (YouTube- @deepakgodbole) on the subject of ‘Insurance Awareness’ through short information snippets are highly acclaimed.
